Liverpool 0 - 1 Ipswich Town Sun 10th Dec 2000 18:54
The Blues marched to yet another famous victory as a superb Marcus Stewart goal won the day at Anfield. While it was backs to the wall at times, it was another huge performance showing spirit aplenty as well as some lovely passing.
Town Wait on Armstrong Wed 06th Dec 2000 10:43
Town continue to await Alun Armstrong's decision on whether he becomes a Town player. The Middlesbrough man returned to the North-East yesterday to discuss the move with his wife. Prior to this he had passed a medical and the Blues had even called a press conference for 3pm. However, the former Stockport man needed more time and is currently mulling Town's offer over.
Johnson Holland Baltacha Rumours Quashed Tue 28th Nov 2000 11:51
Despite stories eminating from Manchester to the contrary Town are saying that David Johnson will not be leaving the club. Reports yesterday quoted Johnson saying he would be tempted by an offer for City. This may be true, however with Richard Naylor out for six weeks with his knee problem Town are certainly not going to sell a striker.

Coventry 0-1 Town Tue 21st Nov 2000 01:17
Town scored a dramatic winner in injury time at Highfield Road to return to fifth in the table. Just about everyone had decided that a draw was probably on the face of it, a fair result when Fabian Wilnis popped up on the end of a Martijn Reuser cross to head past Kirkland in the Coventry goal.
Taricco Story Resurfaces Mon 20th Nov 2000 12:27
Some sources have once again dug up the Taricco to Town rumour from August and September. One not usually reliable source claims that Town are to move for the Portman Road legend as he is no longer wanted by Spurs. When this story last appeared David Pleat stated that Taricco wasn't for sale and George Burley said that since the signing of Amir Karic Town weren't looking for a full-back. Doesn;t seem very likely then does it?
Fabian's Battle Thu 16th Nov 2000 10:33
Town's right wing/full-back Fabian Wilnis is facing a battle to be fit for Monday's clash with Coventry. The Dutchman was injured by a bad tackle from Graham Stuart during Saturday's game with Charlton and then aggravated the injury in a block tackle during the second half. His calf is very sore and he also has a problem with his ankle. He is due to start running today, but he is still a fair distance from being able to kick a ball. Gary Croft and Titus Bramble will hope for a chance to play on Monday at Highfield Road should Wilnis not make it. Jim Magilton is also being treated for his recurrent ankle problem.
Ipswich 2 - 0 Charlton Sat 11th Nov 2000 17:29
Town got back on the right track with a 2-0 home win over Charlton at Portman Road. For 80 minutes the Town fans had a frustrating afternoon, but late strikes from Matt Holland and Marcus Stewart saw Town home.
Sheepshanks Launches New Three-Year Plan Thu 09th Nov 2000 22:58
This evening’s Ipswich Town Annual General Meeting took place in the Centre Spot restaurant. David Sheepshanks took centre stage in front of a star-field style backdrop, and addressed a crowd numbering some 200 shareholders. These shareholders eventually found their seats after traversing long lines of chairs. I hope the architects of the new South Stand are aware of the necessity of aisles.
We're All Going on a Intertoto Tour Wed 08th Nov 2000 11:22
Town's current standing at the top of the Fair Play League may lead to an early start to 2000/01. Should Town win the Fair Play League they will be invited to enter the Intertoto Cup which can begin as early as June. Last year Bradford and Aston Villa entered the trophy which can lead to UEFA Cup entry. So far Town have received just eight bookings this season with John McGreal the greatest individual transgressor with just two bookings. There have been no players sent off so far this year.
